Tamara Barendregt
President and CEOTamara Barendregt is President & CEO of Answer Excellence Inc. Mrs. Barendregt holds a degree in nursing and a B.A. in psychology. Prior to starting Answer Excellence in 1986, she held supervisory positions in two major hospitals and home health care. As a registered nurse who understood the issues of the medical professions, she felt that there had to be a better way to handle communications.
The focus of Answer Excellence continues to be on helping clients achieve their goals by listening to their issues and responding to them with unique and creative solutions for their communications needs. Tamara Barendregt's professional challenges in dealing with answering services in the 80s led her to start her own service - there was plenty of room for improvement compared with what she had experienced. As founder and owner, she has gained an in-depth knowledge of businesses challenges and what can be done to help them improve their communications.
Wayne Robinson
Director of Information TechnologyMr. Robinson comes to Answer Excellence with a 20 year background in software application development as a software engineer and technical team lead. During many years with GTE, he successfully developed a range of projects including customer service desktop applications and telephone applications for the wireless industry.
His expertise in telecommunications systems, software development, and project management help Answer Excellence to provide a broad spectrum of services and features. He also has worked extensively with end-users and clients for requirements gathering, user interface design, and operational support. This has reinforced to him that the goal of technology is solving real-world problems.
The IT department at Answer Excellence delivers solutions to both in-house users and clients alike. Their latest project, Consult ManagerTM helps nurses and hospital staff manage the doctor consultation process.
Steve Bower
Director of OperationsMr. Bower joined Answer Excellence in 2006 as the Operations Manager. With a Bachelor's degree in Finance, he worked for 11 years in banking and financial services. This includes experience in every facet of the industry, including financial product sales, marketing, and human resources.
In his original role of Operations Manager, Steve was able to increase employee satisfaction, decrease turnover, and improve operating procedures. Under Steve's direction, the Answer Excellence operations department has earned distinction in the form of two ATSI Awards of Excellence (2007 and 2008). Answer Excellence achieved the highest score in the U.S. and Canada for the 2008 award, and second-highest in 2007.
On winning the award in 2007, Steve said, "I am very pleased our team has won this coveted award. It tells me that the time we spend training and coaching all our front-line team members has paid off... and the result has been a superb customer experience." This sentiment applies even more to the 2008 first-place score. "Building a good team and retaining our best team members really helps us provide great service to our clients."
